Born in New South Wales, Fiona Craig studied at the The University of Sydney where she was arded a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Class 1. She held the first solo exhibition of her pastel and watercolour paintings of Australian wildflowers in Sydney in 1979 and since then has exhibited almost annually mainly in Sydney and overseas in jakarta and Chicago. She received the Merit Award in the Portia Geach Memorial Award 1988 and was a finalist in the Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize in 2013, and received a commission to paint twenty-seven paintings for Sydney's Regent Hotel.
