Born in New Zealand in 1927, Henry Bell commenced painting in 1950. He studied briefly at the Dunedin Art School prior to his arrival in Australia in 1953. He painted for a time in South Australia and returned to New Zealand before settling in Queensland in 1955. He has held many one-man exhibitions in New Zealand and Australia.
