About Susie Bootja Bootja Napaljarri
An Australian aboriginal artist, Suzie Bootja Bootja was born in the Kimberley region of W A about 1935. Married to artist Mick Gill Tjakamarra, she began painting in the 1990s. Works by both Susie Bootja Bootja and her husband were included in a 1991 exhibition in Paris, and at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 1997.
We have records of art auction sales by Susie Bootja Bootja Napaljarri from 1995 and in total 87 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 55 (63%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $43,050 for Waterhole, Kurtal Country sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in May 2004.
