A colonial artist Edward Boulton was born in 1812, and arrived in Australia in 1836. Nominally a grazier but in practice a watercolour artist, he exhibited his landscappes in in Sydney, Melbourne and London. He travelled in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, painting and sketching. He later moved his family back to England.

We have records of art auction sales by Edward Boulton from 1985 and in total 9 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 9 (100%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $2,151 for Sunset Sydney Harbour, from Darling Point Road 1878 sold by Bonhams & Goodman in March 2006.
