About Charles Aubrey
It is believed this artist is probably Arthur Charles Aubrey, born in Whangerei, New Zealand in 1873. A. C. Aubrey painted in Wellington from 1889 to 1894 and in Auckland around the turn of the century. He is often confused with Christopher Aubrey who was active in the same areas of New Zealand at around the same time.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1989.
