Born in Adelaide in 1950, Aleksander Danko studied sculpture at the South Australian School of Arts and overseas. A sculptor, painter, lecturer, film maker and performance artist, he has exhibited in the southern states since 1970.

The total number of works by Aleksander Danko offered for sale by auction since 1996 is 11, of which 9 (82%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,488 for Incident-Ambivalence 1988-91 sold by Mossgreen Auctions in February 2016. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022. Works by Aleksander Danko are held by the National Gallery of Australia, Heide Museum of Modern Art and a further nine major public national galleries (see list below).
