Born in Hungary in 1927, Eliza Szarukan arrived in Australia in 1949. She studied privately in Hungary and at Atelier Fur Kunst from 1945 to 1948 in Austria prior to her arrival in Australia. A member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, she exhibited in Melbourne in the 1970s and 1980s.
