Born in South Australia in 1951, Kim Polomka studied at the National Art School in Adelaide. Known for his surrealist landscapes, mostly in watercolour, he has exhibited widely since 1974. Polomka has lectured at the Royal South Australian Society of Arts. Kim Polomka has won numerous Art awards both in Australia and overseas. His last one man show was in 1998 at Sam Hill Smith Galleries, prior to moving permanently to the United States in 1999, living in the state of Colorado. He has painted four murals in downtown Colorado Springs locations, and twice won first place in the Painting-Professional Division at Colorado State Fair where he exhibited between 2005 to 2010.
