Born in Perth in 1941, Garry Zeck studied under Robert Juniper and the portraitist Owen Garde. 1974 he was awarded an inaugural 12 month Fellowship in Painting as Artist in Residence at the Fremantle Arts Centre. While teaching art at Kalgoorlie College in the late eighties, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Edith Cowan University. A painter and ceramic artist, his first exhibition was in Perth in 1967, and since then has exhibited in over 50 solo exhibitions in Perth and regional centres.

The total number of works by Gary Zeck offered for sale by auction since 1992 is 25, of which 15 (60%) were sold. This year one work has been offered for sale. Works by Gary Zeck are held by the Art Gallery of Western Australia and National Gallery of Australia.
