Born in Scotland in 1953, Patricia Hoffie arrived in Australia at the age of four. She studied extensively in Queensland and New South Wales and has been on several study trips to the Middle East and Asia. A painter and installation artist, she held her first solo exhibition in Brisbane in 1974. Hoffie has also lectured at Queensland tertiary institutions.
