About Joe Shearer
Born in Ayr, Scotland in 1928, Joe Shearer arrived in Australia in 1954. A self taught artist and animator, he worked in Glasgow and then Sydney as a theatrical artist, and later worked as an animator. He exhibited in at the Edinburg Festival in Scotland and in Sydney. He illustrated a book, 'Bound for Botany Bay' in 1977.
