Anne Marie Graham was born in Vienna, Austria in 1925 and before coming to Australia in her teens in 1939, had been taught in Vienna by the influential art teacher, Professor Czizek. In Australia she trained at R.M.I.T. from 1939 to 1943, at the National Gallery of Victoria, and studied at the George Bell School from 1949 to 1953. She lectured at the school of Architecture, University of Melbourne from 1960 to 1964. Her first solo exhibition was in Melbourne in 1957 and since then she has shown her open line drawings and naïve paintings at solo and group exhibitons in all Australian state capitals and overseas in London, Zurich, Vienna, Auckland and Naples.
