About Lance J. Sullivan
Born in Victoria in 1916, Sullivan trained to be a commercial artist but his later art studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology were interrupted by service during World War II. He was a member of Victorian Artists Society and the Australian Realist Artists Guild. A decorative impressionist painter of landscapes, he held several solo shows in Melbourne and provincial Victoria and was included in many group shows.
The earliest auction listing we have for Lance Sullivan is in 1975 and in total 14 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 13 (93%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,227 for Shoreham Beach sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in May 2013. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2016.
