About Francis Philip Barraud
Englishman born in England in 1824, Francis Barraud was brother of artist Charles D Barraud. He visited New Zealand in 1842 on the 'Northfleet' and continued his career after he returned to England. His watercolours were exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1889 to 1897.
