Born in Melbourne in 1957, Donald Alan Ramsay studied Forest Science at Melbourne University and trained as a teacher in Melbourne, but received no formal art training. A painter and printmaker, he has held solo shows in Melbourne since 1979. He has travelled in Russia and France, as well as remote parts of Australia.
