About Leon Hume
Born in Australia in 1916, Leon Hume commenced his career in Australia, after studying at the National Gallery of Australia in Melbourne with William Beckwith McInnes and Charles Wheeler. During this time he lived with a fellow artist Irene Hill. Hume departed Australia for the United Kingdom in 1946-47. He had numerous exhibitions in the United Kingdom, and although he visited Australia from time to time, made his home in the United Kingdom, where he died in 1989.
