Born in Melbourne in 1967 Julia Ciccarone studied at Victorian College of the Arts where she was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1988. After receiving the Verdaccio Studio awarded by the Visual Arts and Craft Board of the Australia Council, she lived and worked in Italy Since 1998, she has lectured in painting and drawing at the Western Institute of Technology and Monash University. Since her first exhibition in 1988 she has exhibited throughout all the Australian states. Julia Ciccarone was a finalist in the Art Gallery of NSW Archibald Prize.
