Born in Dunedin in 1966, Geoff Williams had no formal art training, having begun his career as a sign writer and screen printer in his father's business. A realist artist, he uses graphite, acrylic and oil to create landscapes, coastal scenes, still life and figurative works. He has held solo exhibitions since 1980, throughout New Zealand including some with his father who took up painting when he retired from his signwriting business.
