Born in Sanderstead, England c1900, Barbara Cameron had studied at the Royal Drawing Society, London from 1919-20 and worked as a newspaper illustrator and naive painter, prior to her arrival in Australia in 1934. She exhibited in Sydney and Melbourne in solo and group shows for about 20 years from 1965. She wrote and and illustrated three children's books in the 1940s.
