About Lyndon Dadswell
Born in Sydney 1908, Lyndon Dadswell studied in Sydney, Melbourne and at the Royal Academy in London. He was wounded and partially blinded whilst serving with the AIF in Syria in 1941. He worked as an official war artist in Cairo until returning to Sydney in 1942 where he lectured in sculpture at East Sydney Technical College. Apart from two years studying and teaching in America, he remained with East Sydney Technical College until his retirement in 1968. Foundation president of the Society of Sculptors and Associates, Dadswell has had numerous commissions and has won several art awards.
We have records of art auction sales by Lyndon Dadswell from 1973 and in total 100 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 59 (59%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $40,800 for Reclining Lady, c. 1949 sold by Deutscher and Hackett in November 2007. This year 9 works have been offered for sale.
