Born in Sydney 1908, Lyndon Dadswell studied in Sydney, Melbourne and at the Royal Academy in London. He was wounded and partially blinded whilst serving with the AIF in Syria in 1941. He worked as an official war artist in Cairo until returning to Sydney in 1942 where he lectured in sculpture at East Sydney Technical College. Apart from two years studying and teaching in America, he remained with East Sydney Technical College until his retirement in 1968. Foundation president of the Society of Sculptors and Associates, Dadswell has had numerous commissions and has won several art awards.
