Born in 1919, Lesley Pockley studied at the Chelsea Polytechnic in London and the Julian Ashton School in Sydney. She is an abstract impressionist painter in oil, acrylic and mixed media. Her first exhibition, held at the Barry Stern Gallery in 1963, was followed by further exhibitions at that venue in later years, and at the Macquarie and Toorak Galleries. Among her awards, was the Royal Easter Show prize for still life in 1974.
