Born in Czechoslovakia in 1943, Petr Herel studied in Prague, arriving in Australia in 1973. A painter, printmaker and teacher, he has taught at tertiary level in Melbourne and Canberra. His first exhibition in Australia was in Melbourne in 1973. Hegge exhibits principally in Brisbane.
