Born in Hobart in 1959, Sarah Faulkner studied Fine Art Painting at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1977/78 and was awarded a Diploma Fine Art, Prahran College of Advanced Education in 1981. She was a founding member of the artists’ co-operative ROAR Studios in Fitzroy, Melbourne in 1982 and first exhibited in Melbourne in 1986. Since then has exhibited regularly in that city. In 1984 she was awarded Australia Council Grant for Resident, Green Street Studio, New York.

We have records of art auction sales by Sarah Faulkner from 1992 and in total 97 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 55 (57%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $11,700 for The Stable Hand sold by Sotheby's in March 2005. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
