Born in Hobart in 1959, Sarah Faulkner studied Fine Art Painting at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1977/78 and was awarded a Diploma Fine Art, Prahran College of Advanced Education in 1981. She was a founding member of the artists’ co-operative ROAR Studios in Fitzroy, Melbourne in 1982 and first exhibited in Melbourne in 1986. Since then has exhibited regularly in that city. In 1984 she was awarded Australia Council Grant for Resident, Green Street Studio, New York.
