A New Zealand artist, Ross Gray was born in 1945. He studied at the Ilam School of Fine Arts, University of Canterbury and Christchurch Teachers College in 1968. During his career as a teacher of art and art history from 1969 to 1995 he was head of the Art Department at Cashmere High School, Christchurch for 14 years.
