About William Aylward
Born in Sydney 1928, William Aylward travelled extensively overseas from 1955 to 1958 and studied life drawing at the Sir John Cass College in London. Returning to Australia he studied Art at East Sydney Technical College (now the National Art School). He is best known for his Australian landscapes and portraits, particularly of Aboriginal people from Northern and Central Australia. He has had solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne and his works are in numerous private collections in Australia, UK, Canada, USA & France.
