Born in Tehran in 1949 Hossein Valamannesh and studied at the School of Fine Art Tehran in 1970. He arrived in Australia in 1973 and studied at the South Australian School of Art in 1977. A painter, collage, sculptor and installation he has held numerous exhibitions from the 1990s to the 2010s in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and overseas in Finland Dubai, and Japan.. He has completed a number of major public art commissions with artist Angela Valamanesh in the Botanic Gardens, Adelaide in 2011, North Terrace, Adelaide in 2005 and at Hyde Park Barracks, Sydney in 1999.
