Born in New South Wales on 5th March 1881, Edgecombe studied at the East Sydney Technical College and in Europe. He was a teacher at the East Sydney Technical College and a commercial artist. Edgecombe belonged to the Royal Art Society of New South Wales and the Australian Art Society. He painted landscape subjects of the Sydney area.
