Born in Victoria in 1939, Max Mannix is a basically self-taught painter, printmaker and illustrator, working with oil, acrylic, pen and ink in depicting scenes of rural Australia. He first exhibited in 1979 and since then has exhibited widely in the eastern states. He is represented in several provincial collections.
