Born in Ballarat in 1908, Florence Martin studied art in Melbourne and in New York in 1945-46 and at the American Artists School in 1951. She is best known for her still life and floral paintings and for her designs for theatre and ballet in Australia and the USA, as a member of the United Scenic Artists of America. She exhibited her still life and flower paintings from 1950 in New York, London, Melbourne and Sydney.
