Born in Poland in 1912, Adam Kriegel studied in Warsaw, Brussels, Paris and, after his arrival in Australia in 1947, in Sydney. A painter, teacher and musician, he was a concert violinist and taught at Sydney's Conservatorium of Music. He later taught art with the South Australian Education Department.
