Born in Adelaide in 1947, Jeremy Gordon studied at the South Australian School of Art from 1961 to 1963 and at East Sydney Technical College from 1963 to 1965 under Sir William Dobell. He also studied in London at the Hammersmith Art School and the Byam Shaw School where he was awarded the Painting Prize and Diploma of Fine Art. He returned to Australia in 1969 after an extensive tour of Europe. He has held nine significant exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide since 1971 his first exhibition at Joseph Brown Gallery in Melbourne.
We have records of art auction sales by Hugh Gordon from 1976 and in total 24 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 16 (67%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,350 for Quintet sold by Lawsons in October 2020. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022.
