Born in Norway in 1869, Harold Anderson arrived in New Zealand in 1872. He studied in the United States, returning to New Zealand in 1902 and settling in Palmerston North. A portrait artist, He exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts annually from 1905 to 1923.
